Drinking Your Surroundings , Digital Photographs, 2004~present

My works include digital photography and experimental video represent the issues of transcultural displacement I’ve experienced as an immigrant. “Drinking Your Surroundings” is an artistic archive that investigates my identity informed by a cross-cultural journey. The work represents a collection of different places where I have lived within the past five years. These works embody my desire to come to terms with my origins and to create an artistic archive of my nomadic lifestyle. I collect and position pictures of my surroundings within the glass cups that I use every day, in order to visually and conceptually absorb their truths. Audiences can identify with these multicultural sources, experiencing the works not only through their sense of sight but also through their sense of taste.
